Dean Nafziger

Baritone Singer, Upright Bass Fiddle

Dean lives in Coventryville, PA with his wife, Robin and their children: three sons - Ezra, Evan, Erin and three daughters - Emma, Eliza and Eden.

Born and raised in Phoenixville, Chester County, he remembers listening to Bluegrass music at an early age. "I am the youngest of five children, but I remember my Dad tuning in WCOJ on the radio. All of us kids used to go around imitating Alex Campbell from Campbell's Corner in Oxford, Pennsylvania."

Dean's Mother encouraged him into music, and he played saxophone through school in the marching, concert and jazz bands. He also took an interest in the guitar as a young teen. "My Uncle Dan Nafziger loaned me an Acoustic guitar and I played along with country songs on the radio. Often times I would just try to pick out a bass line. I'd always loved the bass and would turn the bass knob all the way up."

Dean has been with Sunnyside since 1995 playing bass and singing baritone. He also has a business in Spring City, PA. Filter Recon offers commercial - industrial filtration products and an air filter cleaning service. "Filters are my bread and butter but I really enjoy singing gospel music. It's something worth singing about!
